Today we will talk about the type of recognitions you can obtain in university leagues and how the university helps you make the leap to a professional level.

If you prefer to listen rather than read, here is an explanatory video:

The three types of recognitions in universities in the United States?

To begin with, there are three types of recognition:

1. All-conference: is equivalent to being on your conference's dream team.
2. All-region: they cover several conferences, it is from the region.
3. All-american: It is the highest recognition there is at the university level.

Depending on what the conferences and regions are like it varies a little, but within each one there are normally 3 ideal teams: the first team, the second and the third. In the case of All-american, which is the ideal 11, is quite important and is a very positive recognition in terms of your university career.

What is The Comine and Draft in college football in the US?

Once you finish your university career, what options do you have to go professional? There are 2 steps:

1. The Combine: is a selection of approximately 80 players that make up MLS teams. They take them to play games for 3 or 4 days, and the scouts from the professional teams are there to decide which players they want to sign. If these games are played in the morning, in the afternoon interviews are held with the players who have interested the MLS teams, to get to know them a little more.
2. draft: a few days later you reach the draft, where the juice of the matter is. In it draft, teams have already decided which players they want and which they don't. So, these players are going to be named if they have been chosen by an MLS team. This does not guarantee you a place on the MLS team, but you will most likely be on a professional team, whether in the first division or the second.

As I mentioned, there are approximately 80 players who are chosen each year, so there are many opportunities. This is one of the most anticipated events in college football. Do you want to know more about the College League football season in the US?
